1. What are Superabsorbent Polymers?
Superabsorbent Polymers (SAP, Slush powder) are chemicals that able to absorb & hold large amounts of water in a stable status - Hydrogel polymers or SAP gel, water gel.
2. What is Superabsorbent Polymer made of/from?
There are Natural SAP & Synthetic / Man-made SAP;
Man-made SAP polymer is made from petroleum (oil). Main types of super absorbent polymer are: Sodium acrylates & Potassium polyacrylates.
3. What is super absorbent polymer agriculture?
Agriculture SAP Powder is potassium polyacrylate / Potassium Polymer / K-PAM;
Agro SAP is biodegradable, used as a water-retaining agent in agriculture, holding & control release of soil moist/water/nutrient/fertilizer [More of Agro SAP]
4. Potassium polyacrylates Advantages:
5. What are Sodium acrylates used for?
Sodium acrylates are mainly used for Baby & Adult Diapers, Personal Hygiene, Medical, Other water-absorber products: sandless flood bags, it can't be used as SAP for Agriculture;

6. Safe note: Is Acrylate Copolymers Safe/toxic?
It consists of a set of polymeric chains that are parallel to each other and regularly linked to each other by cross-linking agents, thus forming a network.
When water comes into contact with one of these chains, it is drawn into the molecule by osmosis. Water rapidly migrates into the interior of the polymer network where it is stored. That’s how SAP powder turns to water gel.
As this water gel’s absorption ability is bigger than soil but less than the roots of plants, the absorbed water by SAP gel will be released to plants when it is dry.
